Storage Beds

Turn the dead space under your bed into real storage. Our storage beds come in two mechanisms: gas-lift ottoman bases, where the whole top lifts to reveal a well running the full footprint of the bed, and divan sets with drawers built into the side or end of the base.

Which one you want depends on how you'll use it. Ottoman gives far more total capacity and suits things you access seasonally — spare duvets, suitcases, winter clothes. Drawers hold less but open without lifting the mattress, which suits everyday items. Ottoman bases also need clearance at the side to open fully; drawers need clearance in front.

Shop the mechanism: ottoman beds or divan beds with drawers.

Shop by size: single, small double, double, king size and super king.

How much can you actually fit under a storage bed?

An ottoman well runs the full base footprint, so capacity scales with bed size — a double holds a surprising amount. See our storage capacity guide.

Ottoman or drawers — which is better?

Ottoman for capacity, drawers for convenience. If you're storing bulky bedding, ottoman wins comfortably. See our full comparison.

Is anything unsuitable for under-bed storage?

Avoid anything damp or perishable, and don't store items so tall they block the base closing. If your base won't shut, read why an ottoman bed won't close.

Are storage beds harder to assemble?

A lift mechanism adds a few steps over a plain frame, but instructions and hardware are included. Two people are needed for the frame regardless.
