In a room where a 4ft6 double leaves you edging past the end of the bed, that 15cm is usually the difference between a room that works and one that doesn't. Two measurements matter, and people usually only take one. First the floor space for the bed itself. Second, the clearance you need at the side for the base to lift fully open — an ottoman base swings up and needs room to do it. Also check the route in: doorways, stairwells and tight landings stop more deliveries than bedroom size does.
