What to Store in Your Ottoman Bed: Organisation Ideas

The storage well is the whole point of an ottoman bed — here's how to organise it so you actually use the space well.

Bedding and spare linens

Store spare duvets, pillows and sheet sets in breathable cotton storage bags, folded flat to maximise the footprint rather than stacked in bulky piles.

Seasonal clothing

Vacuum-sealed or breathable garment bags keep out-of-season coats and knitwear compact and protected — just make sure items are fully dry first (see our damp and mould prevention guide).

Toys and children's items

Use stackable fabric bins inside the well to keep toys sorted rather than loose, making it easier for kids to find and put away items themselves.

Suitcases and travel gear

The storage well is deep enough to fit most suitcases flat, freeing up wardrobe or cupboard space entirely.

Keep it organised, not just full

Leave small gaps between items for airflow, and avoid packing right to the lid — both for ease of closing and to prevent musty smells developing.
