White Double Ottoman Beds

What size is a double ottoman bed?

The mattress is 135 x 190 cm. The external frame is larger — usually 145 to 155 cm wide and 200 to 215 cm long once the headboard and upholstery are included. Each product page lists its exact external dimensions, and those are the numbers to measure your room against, not the mattress size.

How much can I store under a double ottoman bed?

The well runs the full width and length of the base, typically 30 to 40 cm deep. That comfortably takes two spare duvets, a full set of winter bedding, several suitcases, or out-of-season clothing in vacuum bags.

How much room do I need around the bed?

Allow about 70 cm at the side you plan to open from, so the base can swing up freely and you can reach into the well. Gas struts do the lifting, so the mattress rises with one hand — but the lid still needs clear headroom above the bed.

Will a double ottoman bed fit through my door?

Yes. Every frame arrives flat-packed in sections, so nothing needs to pass through a doorway fully assembled. Two people are recommended for assembly.

Does an ottoman bed need a special mattress?

No, any standard 135 x 190 cm double mattress fits. Depth is worth a thought though: very deep mattresses over about 30 cm add weight the struts have to lift, so a medium-depth pocket sprung or hybrid works best. See our mattress range.
