What room size do I need for a king size bed?

Allow walking space on both sides where possible. The extra 10cm of length matters in rooms with a bay window or radiator at the foot of the bed — measure before ordering.

Is a UK king the same as a US king?

No. A UK king is 150cm wide; a US king is around 193cm. Buy UK-sized bedding for a UK king size bed.

Do I need a bigger mattress for a king bed?

Yes — king frames take a 5ft x 6ft6 mattress. If you're using an ottoman base, heavier mattresses need correspondingly rated gas struts, which we match at build.
